ALL ABOUT OF SUKHER SWARGA FOUNDATION, NGO/NPO. FIRST SANDESHKHALI/SUNDARBAN"S STUDENT GROUP NGO.

 About the Organization:

Sukher Swarga Foundation is a non- governmental organization which was founded in December, 2018 by some young environment lovers who belong to the Sunderbans. The organization gained its legal status in July 2021 under Non Governmental Organizations Act, 2013 with Certificate No U85300WB2021NPL247196

Major Accomplishment:

i. The organization has already planted 480000 numbers of mangrove saplings along the river coastal areas of the Sundarbans so far.

ii. Besides Mangrove Plantation the organization plays an important role to make people of the Sundarbans coastal areas aware of the importance of Mangrove forests and organizes awareness programs to make them educated on it and to take participation in the survival initiatives of mangroves as well as of the Sundarban islands.

iii. Empowering the women is a good practice and the organization follows that practice by embodying them with the mangrove plantation programme. They play a major role in making the project complete. From collection of seeds to planting of saplings - they contribute their efforts. Many women groups are involved and they keenly perform to make the mission successful and through it they earn wages for their livelihood.

iv. Besides Mangrove Plantation the organization steps in farmer plantation where the farmers are given cash plants free of cost so that they can earn a living for their families.

v. The Sundarban means an archipelago. To get a good quality of education is a problem here for the students of these islands. The organization runs free coaching centre to help them to get a quality education and provides them with different reference books to enhance their knowledge in different subjects.

vi. Educated but unemployed and frustrated boys and girls who are from this delta also suffer from both the lack of computer knowledge and English communication skill. The organization provides such training institutes to make them skillful in both computer knowledge and English communication skills to help them to get a job.

vii. The organization took a humanitarian role by providing relief work in the lockdown period caused by COVID 19 and in the time of the devastating cyclonic disaster of Amphan and Yash. In the COVID period the members of the organization took the risk to deliver medicine, food, water and many other essential commodities to people who were confined due to lack of communication. And during cyclonic disaster performed many relief work including to run a community kitchen for the homeless and helpless flood affected people.

viii. Education brings intellectual development but it is not complete unless the physical development comes and in this respect sports is the unsubstitutional medium. It not only brings mental and physical development but also makes one social and enthusiastic. The organisation regularly arranges sports programs to achieve that goal and the students participate there with joy and zeal. Besides, they enthusiastically take part in cultural programmes conducted by the organisation. It helps them to learn about the importance of those events and makes them conscious about their duty towards society.

ix. Environmental consciousness is a must nowadays and it is better to make that sense from the beginning and therefore we choose school grounds for plantation so that the students can take part in those events and learn the importance of greenery to save the environment. So far we have arranged such  programs at 12 numbers of schools and got a remarkable response from the students to run the events.

x. During Amphan a vast land of Manipur and Atapur villages under Manipur GP was overflowed by saline water and to drain it out was not possible in such a situation for a long time. Resulting , the water bodies became putrid  and polluted. The situation aggravated the infestation of pests. As a result, severe aquatic and pest-borne diseases created an epidemic- like situation. It was an emergency to drain out the usages and bleach the areas thoroughly. SSF performed a vital role in this cleaning operation, with the help pump sets irrigated the polluted water, sanitized pesticides to make the area habitable again.
