We are absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news from the SAFALYA Academy School in the Sundarbans! The spirit of community and dedication to upliftment has once again shone brightly, bringing incredible resources to our students.

This week, SAFALYA Academy took a giant leap forward in both sports promotion and digital literacy, thanks to the profound generosity of two remarkable individuals.

A Game-Changer for Sports: The Table Tennis Table

A huge and heartfelt thank you goes out to Hema Dhanuka for her generous donation of a table tennis table!

In the Sundarbans, promoting sports is about so much more than just physical fitness; it's about teaching teamwork, discipline, focus, and healthy competition. The table tennis table is a fantastic addition that will provide endless hours of play and skill development for our students. It’s a true 'Grand Slam' for our sports program, helping us to nurture future talents and instill a lifelong love for active, healthy living.

Lighting Up Digital Learning: The Samsung TV

Hema Dhanuka's generosity didn't stop there! We also extend our deepest gratitude for the donation of a 43-inch Samsung TV!

This powerful tool will be a cornerstone in boosting digital literacy at SAFALYA Academy. It will transform our classrooms, allowing teachers to use engaging visual aids, educational videos, and digital learning modules that bring the world right into the classroom. This TV is key to preparing our students for the future by giving them essential 21st-century digital skills.

Sundarban Mangrove Nursery | Sukher Swarga's Mangrove Nursery #H2 #H3

The Sundarbans is a special place, World Heritage Site/ Biosphere Reserve/ National Park/ Wildlife sanctuary/ Tiger Reserve full of amazing nature. But it's also a place that needs protection from climate change. Mangrove trees are the best natural defense, and a group called the Sukher Swarga Foundation, Top 10 Sundarban Grassroots NGO is doing incredible work to protect them. This year, 2025 the foundation has done something amazing. They grew 100,000 (one lakh) mangrove saplings in their nursery with the support of Self help Group Women till now. That's a huge number and shows just how dedicated they are to their mission. They don't just use these saplings for one thing. They have two main goals:   Helping Others : They sell a lot of their saplings to other non-profit groups (NGOs). This helps more people plant trees and protect more areas.
