 The Sundarbans, known for its majestic tigers and dense mangroves, is now witnessing a different kind of transformation—an educational revolution. This year marks the beginning of a historic journey with the launch of Safalya Academy, the first-ever English medium school in this remote region.



Breaking Barriers in Education

For a long time, children in the heart of the Sundarbans had limited access to modern, English-based education. Many talented students were held back by geographical and financial barriers. Safalya Academy was born to change that narrative.

Regulated and managed by the Sukher Swarga Foundation (an NGO dedicated to rural upliftment), the school aims to provide world-class education to those who need it most.

An Incredible Start

The response from the local community has been overwhelming. Even though the school opened its doors just this year, it has already welcomed over 150 students. This rapid growth proves one thing: the parents and children of the Sundarbans are hungry for quality education and a brighter future.

Sundarban Mangrove Nursery | Sukher Swarga's Mangrove Nursery #H2 #H3

The Sundarbans is a special place, World Heritage Site/ Biosphere Reserve/ National Park/ Wildlife sanctuary/ Tiger Reserve full of amazing nature. But it's also a place that needs protection from climate change. Mangrove trees are the best natural defense, and a group called the Sukher Swarga Foundation, Top 10 Sundarban Grassroots NGO is doing incredible work to protect them. This year, 2025 the foundation has done something amazing. They grew 100,000 (one lakh) mangrove saplings in their nursery with the support of Self help Group Women till now. That's a huge number and shows just how dedicated they are to their mission. They don't just use these saplings for one thing.
