A Year of Green Impact: Highlights from our 2025 Annual Meeting

As the sun set on 2025, the Sukher Swarga Foundation family gathered on December 31st to reflect on a year of growth, grit, and greenery. This wasn't just a year-end review; it was a celebration of our shared mission to protect our planet’s "blue lungs"—the mangroves.

Our founder, Swapan Suin, popularly known as the "Mangrove Boy of India," led the discussion with a powerful reminder: “The roots of the mangrove do more than just hold the soil; they hold our future.”

Key Takeaways from the Meeting

The annual meeting was an opportunity to evaluate our progress and set ambitious goals for the coming year. Here are the highlights of what was discussed:

Restoration Success: We reviewed the survival rates of the saplings planted across the coastal belts this past year. Despite climate challenges, our community-driven approach has shown remarkable resilience.

Community Empowerment: Swapan Suin emphasized that conservation cannot happen in isolation. We discussed the success of our local awareness programs that have turned coastal residents into "Guardians of the Forest."

Technological Integration: For 2026, we are looking at better ways to map and monitor mangrove health using satellite data and local reporting.

Expansion Plans: We discussed moving beyond our current zones to identify new "hotspots" that are vulnerable to erosion and need immediate reforestation.

A Message from the "Mangrove Boy"

During the session, Swapan Suin shared a heartfelt message with the team:

> "Every seed we plant is a shield against the rising tides. My journey started with a single sapling, but with Sukher Swarga Foundation, it has turned into a movement. Our work in the Sundarbans and beyond is a testament to what happens when passion meets purpose."

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we stepped into the New Year at the stroke of midnight, our resolution was clear: Scale our impact. We aren't just planting trees; we are building ecosystems that protect biodiversity and provide livelihoods.

To our volunteers, donors, and well-wishers—thank you for being the wind beneath our wings. 2025 was a foundation-building year; 2026 will be the year of the Great Green Wall.

Join us in our mission. Let’s make the world a Sukher Swarga (Happy Heaven) for generations to come.
