The 28-Year-Old Visionary: How Swapan Suin, the ‘Mangrove Boy of India,’ is Saving the Sundarbans

In a world where most young adults are just starting their careers, 28-year-old Swapan Suin has already spent nearly a decade on the front lines of climate change. Known nationally as the "Mangrove Boy of India," Swapan’s journey is a masterclass in dedication, grit, and selfless service.

For the last 8 years, Swapan has been the shield of the Sundarbans, proving that age is no bar when it comes to creating a global impact.

A Decade of Dedication: 8 Years, 5 Lakh Trees

Swapan Suin didn't wait for a degree or a massive corporate fund to start his mission. At the age of 20, he realized that the frequent cyclones were not just natural disasters—they were a threat to the very existence of his people.

Started at 20: While his peers were settling into adulthood, Swapan was knee-deep in the saline mud of the delta.

The 5-Lakh Milestone: Over the past 8 years, through his Sukher Swarga Foundation, he has successfully planted and nurtured more than 5,00,000 mangrove saplings.

The Result: Today, those saplings have turned into a "Green Wall," protecting coastal villages from the devastating impact of the rising sea.

Safalya Academy: Educating the Future of the Delta

Swapan Suin’s vision isn't limited to the soil; it reaches the minds of the next generation. He understood that to truly save the Sundarbans, the children needed to be empowered with modern education.

The First of Its Kind: He established Safalya Academy, the first English Medium school in this remote part of the Sundarbans.

300+ Dreams: Currently, more than 300 students are enrolled, receiving a high-quality education that was once accessible only to those in big cities.

Breaking Barriers: By providing English-language education in a historically neglected region, Swapan is ensuring these children can compete on a global stage.

Why the 'Mangrove Boy' is a Global Inspiration

What makes Swapan Suin unique is his dual approach to crisis:

Healing the Earth: Restoring the lungs of the planet through massive reforestation.

Healing the Society: Fighting illiteracy and backwardness through Safalya Academy.

At just 28, he has achieved more than what many achieve in a lifetime. His Sukher Swarga Foundation is a testament to what happens when youth energy is directed toward the roots of our planet.

> "I have been doing this for 8 years, and I am just getting started. Our trees will protect the land, and our students will protect the future," says the Mangrove Boy.

Support the Mission of Swapan Suin

Swapan Suin is a living example of "Action over Words." As he continues his 8-year-long journey, he needs our support to reach the next million trees and the next thousand students.

Let’s celebrate the Mangrove Boy of India—the hero the Sundarbans deserves.
