Aranya Suin: The World’ First Carbon-Neutral Daughter and a Father’s Green Legacy

Image
In the heart of the Sundarbans, where the tides dictate the rhythm of life, a new kind of history has been written. While the world discusses climate change in air-conditioned rooms, Swapan Suin, the founder of Sukher Swarga Foundation—affectionately known as the "Mangrove Boy of India"—has given the world a living example of environmental love. This is the story of his daughter, Aranya Suin, a child born not just to a family, but to the forest itself. A Name with a Purpose: Aranya When Swapan Suin’s daughter was born, her name was chosen with deep intention: Aranya Suin.  Aranya means the forest or the wild.   By naming her Aranya, Swapan Babu sent a clear message: her identity is forever intertwined with the greenery that protects our planet. 7,000 Mangroves: A Gift of Carbon Neutrality To ensure his daughter grows up in a world that isn't burdened by her ecological footprint, Swapan Suin took an extraordinary step. He pledged to make Aranya Suin Carbon Neutral from bir...

The "Mangrove Boy of India": Swapan Suin’s Mission to Save the Sundarbans

Image
In the heart of the Sundarbans, where the tide dictates the rhythm of life and the land is constantly reshaped by the sea, one man has emerged as a guardian of both the environment and the next generation. Swapan Suin, affectionately known as the "Mangrove Boy of India," is the visionary behind the Sukher Swarga Foundation (SSF) and its flagship educational initiative, Safalya Academy. A Legacy Rooted in the Soil For Swapan Suin, saving the Sundarbans isn’t just about planting trees; it’s about planting the seeds of change through education. His journey is one of immense personal sacrifice. Safalya Academy was built entirely without external grants or corporate funding. Instead, it is a self-funded legacy created from the collective savings of team members, teachers, and students, with every rupee earned from environmental projects reinvested into the 2.5-bigha campus. Restoring the Balance: Environment & Education Swapan Suin’s impact is felt across both the ecological a...

It wasn't just a ritual; it was a celebration of a new beginning. A Vision Takes Root This year, 2026, marks the inaugural session of Safalya Academy. Launched under the visionary leadership of Swapan Suin—famously known as the "Mangrove Boy of India"—the school aims to bring quality English medium education to the heart of our community. A Green Miracle: How One Patch Became a Forest in Just One Year

Image
In January 2025, the Sukher Swarga Foundation took on a massive challenge. They began planting mangroves across many different areas of the Sundarbans. This is the story of just one of those many patches. In this single spot, 7,000 saplings were planted. Today, only 12 months later, it doesn't look like a plantation anymore—it looks like a real, thick forest. One Patch Among Many The "Mangrove Bachao" project is huge. While this specific patch is thriving, it is just one piece of a much larger puzzle. By planting in many different locations, the foundation is creating a Live Shield across the coast. Each patch works together to:  * Stop soil erosion (keeping the land from washing away).  * Break the force of storms (acting as a natural wall).  * Provide a home for birds and fish. The Leadership of Swapan Suin This vision comes from Swapan Suin, known as the "Mangrove Boy of India." At just 28 years old, Swapan has already led the planting of 5 Lakh (500,000) m...

Celebrating Wisdom & Growth: Saraswati Puja 2026 at Safalya Academy

It marks a milestone in our mission to provide quality education to every child. We are thrilled to celebrate this year with our growing family:  * Safalya Academy (English Medium): Newly opened this year and already home to 150 bright students.  * Safalya Pathshala: Continuing its incredible journey with 200 dedicated learners. Seeing 350 students coming together under one roof to celebrate the pursuit of wisdom is a testament to how far we have come as a community. Our founder, Swapan Suin, popularly known as the "Mangrove Boy of India," led the discussion with a powerful reminder: “The roots of the mangrove do more than just hold the soil; they hold our future.” Key Takeaways from the Meeting The annual meeting was an opportunity to evaluate our progress and set ambitious goals for the coming year. Here are the highlights of what was discussed:  Restoration Success: We reviewed the survival rates of the saplings planted across the coastal belts this past year. A Green Birthday Tribute: Planting Mangroves for MrBeast!

Image
At Sukher Swarga Foundation, we believe that global change starts with local action. Today, we are thrilled to celebrate the birthday of a man who has redefined digital philanthropy and environmental awareness—Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast. As a creator who inspired millions to plant trees through his #TeamTrees initiative, Jimmy has shown the world that no goal is too big when a community comes together. To honor his birthday and his commitment to the planet, our team has added a special touch to our ongoing mission in the Sundarbans. Our Tribute: 5 Trees for a Global Icon Under our "Mangrove Bachao Project," we have planted 5 mangrove trees in the heart of the Sundarbans specifically in honor of MrBeast. While 5 trees may seem small compared to the millions he has inspired, they represent our deep respect for his work. In the delicate ecosystem of the Sundarbans, these mangroves will grow to protect the coastline, capture carbon, and provide a habitat for local w...

Known across the nation as the 'Mangrove Boy of India', he is a true inspiration! 🇮🇳 Through his organization, Sukher Swarga Foundation, Swapan Da has taken a pledge to protect both the environment and the people of the Sundarbans. It’s not just a school; it’s a dream-catcher for local children who now have access to world-class education right at home. 📚  A Shield Against Cyclones: We know how vulnerable the Sundarbans are to storms. The foundation has designed its infrastructure to serve as a Cyclone Shelter. When nature gets tough, this place be...

Nature is the greatest gift we have, and protecting it is our ultimate responsibility. Swapan Suin: The ‘Mangrove Boy of India’ Building Dreams in Sundarbans

Image
In the saline air and dense forests of the Sundarbans, a hero is at work. Swapan Suin , famously known as the "Mangrove Boy of India," has long been celebrated for planting over 4.8 lakh mangrove saplings to protect his homeland from cyclones. But today, he is planting a different kind of seed—the seed of education. From Environmentalist to Educational Visionary While most entrepreneurs invest their profits into expanding businesses, Swapan has chosen to invest his life's earnings into the children of Manipur, Sandeshkhali . Through his Sukher Swarga Foundation , he has built the Safalya Academy —a modern, two-story English Medium school designed to bridge the gap between rural and urban education. "These are my own children" When asked why he chose to spend his hard-earned money on a school instead of personal profit, Swapan’s answer is simple yet profound: "I don't see these students as outsiders. They are my own children. If they su...

A Green Tribute: Planting Mangroves for Sidharth Malhotra’s Birthday 🌿✨

Image
At Sukher Swarga Foundation, we believe that the best way to celebrate the stars who inspire us is by giving back to the Earth. Today, on the birthday of Bollywood icon Sidharth Malhotra, we are proud to announce a special addition to our "Mangrove Bachao Project." 🌳 5 Trees for a Star To honor Sidharth’s special day, our team has planted 5 Mangrove saplings in the heart of the Sundarbans. While Sidharth shines on the silver screen, these trees will grow to protect our coastlines, absorb carbon, and provide a home for diverse wildlife. The Mission: 5 Lakh and Counting This tribute is a small but meaningful part of our larger journey. To date, the Sukher Swarga Foundation has successfully planted 5 Lakh mangroves in the Sundarbans. Our mission is to safeguard this fragile ecosystem against the rising threats of climate change and soil erosion. The 28-Year-Old Visionary: How Swapan Suin, the ‘Mangrove Boy of India,’ is Saving the Sundarbans

Image
In a world where most young adults are just starting their careers, 28-year-old Swapan Suin has already spent nearly a decade on the front lines of climate change. Known nationally as the "Mangrove Boy of India," Swapan’s journey is a masterclass in dedication, grit, and selfless service. For the last 8 years, Swapan has been the shield of the Sundarbans, proving that age is no bar when it comes to creating a global impact. A Decade of Dedication: 8 Years, 5 Lakh Trees Swapan Suin didn't wait for a degree or a massive corporate fund to start his mission. At the age of 20, he realized that the frequent cyclones were not just natural disasters—they were a threat to the very existence of his people.  Started at 20: While his peers were settling into adulthood, Swapan was knee-deep in the saline mud of the delta.  The 5-Lakh Milestone: Over the past 8 years, through his Sukher Swarga Foundation, he has successfully planted and nurtured more than 5,00,000 mangrove saplings.   ...

A New Dawn in the Mangroves: Safalya Academy Brings English Medium Education to the Sundarbans

Image
The Sundarbans, known for its majestic tigers and dense mangroves, is now witnessing a different kind of transformation—an educational revolution. This year marks the beginning of a historic journey with the launch of Safalya Academy, the first-ever English medium school in this remote region. Breaking Barriers in Education For a long time, children in the heart of the Sundarbans had limited access to modern, English-based education. Many talented students were held back by geographical and financial barriers. Safalya Academy was born to change that narrative. Regulated and managed by the Sukher Swarga Foundation (an NGO dedicated to rural upliftment), the school aims to provide world-class education to those who need it most. An Incredible Start The response from the local community has been overwhelming. Even though the school opened its doors just this year, it has already welcomed over 150 students. This rapid growth proves one thing: the parents and children of the Sundarbans...

The Green Guardians of Sundarbans: Saving the World’s Largest Mangrove Ecosystem

Image
The Sundarbans is not just a forest; it is the lungs of our nation and a vital shield for millions of lives. However, today this UNESCO World Heritage site faces an existential crisis. Rising sea levels and frequent, violent cyclones threaten to wash away both land and livelihoods. In response to this environmental emergency, Sukher Swarga Foundation has emerged as the leading NGO in the Sundarbans, dedicated to large-scale mangrove reforestation and coastal resilience. Our Roots: A Movement by the People Based in Sandeshkhali, we are more than just an organization—we are a grassroots movement. Our strength lies in our community-driven approach: for the local people, and by the local people. We believe that those who live with the tides are the best protectors of the coast. A Milestone of Impact: 500,000 Trees and Counting While environmental discussions are common, Sukher Swarga Foundation believes in measurable action. We are proud to announce that we have successfully planted and nu...
